On Bob Proctor
I'd never heard of Bob Proctor, or if I had I forgot, before the movie "The Secret" came out. Since I watched the movie I've followed Bob Proctor and his teachings. I get his motivational quotes every day in my email and I read them. I don't know if this is coincidence or not (there are no coincidences) but every time, the quote he sends has something to do with what's happening to me and I can relate to the message the quote is trying to impart. This morning was no different, well in a way it was, because now I'm writing about Bob Proctor on my blog. His message this morning was to find what your purpose is, create a vision of you doing things that are in line with your purpose, and set goals or action steps to take to fulfill that purpose and vision. Make sacrifices, not the way you think of sacrifice but sacrifice things from your life that are not in line with fulfilling your real purpose. For instance, if you watch too much tv and it doesn't do anything to help you in fulfilling your purpose than you might consider sacrificing some of your tv time. If you spend too much money eating out, you might sacrifice some eating out nights for eating at home and saving that money to go towards your business. He talks about negativity, which people in network marketing are so aware of. People are always telling us not to do it! He talks about how we were introduced to focusing on the negative from small kid time when the teacher grades our paper with red marks on the answers we get wrong. That's what we focus on, the wrong we do. So our training makes it easy to cave in to negativity because that's what we were doing since we were young. It takes a lot of energy and effort to break away from the status quo, and network marketing, although it's come a long way, is still not the status quo. So many of us would rather settle for earning a meager living because it's much more comfortable than facing the negativity monster in our environment. This is what I've been doing and it's a hard battle not to cave in to fulfilling someone else's purpose, vision, and goals (working for someone to make their dreams come true, make it so that their wife can stay home and care for their children while mine is at a babysitter, you know the drill). Receiving Bob Proctor's messages every morning is really helpful to me and is one of the things I read while having my morning coffee. You can receive his messages too.
